The annual Currie fireworks display, organised by the Currie, Balerno and District Round Table, will take place on Tuesday 5th November at George IV Park in Currie.
As with last year, the fireworks will be provided by the fantastic ‘Pyromancers’, who are promising another spectacular display. The fun will start when the gates open at 6.30pm, with the Counterpoint Drummers, food on sale from Sandy’s Thriepmuir Lamb burger van and the ever-popular glow-sticks and bracelets on sale for the kids (and the adults!).
Any proceeds from the display (after costs) will help support good causes and community events. Recent examples of causes which Round Table awards have supported include a local disabled athlete, Balerno High School Duke of Edinburgh group, the Edinburgh Sick Kids’ Friends Foundation, and a local person working with Burmese refugees. So, come along and enjoy the show while helping to raise money for charities and other deserving causes. Remember, the best view is from inside the park!
Tickets cost for just £4 per adult in advance (from local Post Offices and the Juniper Green Café), or £5 at the gate. All accompanying children are free, but the organisers ask unaccompanied teens to throw in £1 at the gate – please remember this isn’t a profit-making venture, and the proceeds after costs go to good causes.
