Harlaw Monday Group gets Round Table boost

Harlaw Monday Group is for people living in the Balerno, Currie, Juniper Green area who have the diagnosis of mild to moderate Dementia or Cognitive impairment. The aim of the group is to provide social and mental stimulation for the members through a mixture of mental and physical activities and well deserved respite for carers.  Although they have a grant from the council, and charge members a minimal fee, this is not enough to cover the transport and catering costs let alone pay for outings, equipment for group activities and musical entertainment which the members always enjoy.  CBDRT have supported the Monday Group with a donation of £400.  Valerie Clark, the Group’s coordinator, said: “Please thank all the members of the CBDRT for their very generous gift, we shall use it to purchase equipment for reminiscence therapy; pay for singer/ accordion player and towards our monthly outings.”
