April 2022 Charities Update

From time to time we welcome a speaker at our monthly meeting. This month, we were all inspired by John Macaulay when he gave a talk about the great work of Fight Against Cancer Edinburgh or FACE. Amongst the many wonderful things they do for patients and families who have been affected by cancer is to take a group of children to Lapland to visit Santa. We are delighted to be sponsoring 4 places on their next trip and to be making a donation towards their fund.

We also made donations to Community for Food which has now been going for two years helping families in the local area with food provision, Care and Repair which helps with maintenance and alterations in the home to make it easier for older and disabled residents to live independently, and Currie Community Centre to help fund much needed work to the building and CCTV.
